Can you smell the lavender in the air? The flowers are blooming, and I’ve been channeling that soft, soothing color into my latest lavender-inspired art glass pieces.

Lavender has long been associated with calm and clarity. It’s a popular ingredient in soaps, shampoos, and sachets for scenting clothes. The word lavender comes from the Latin lavare, meaning “to wash,” likely because it was traditionally used in baths to help cleanse and restore both body and spirit.

I’ve always loved the gentle, peaceful hue of lavender, and I hope these new art glass pieces bring that same sense of calm into your home.

You can find my latest lavender art glass creations on my website: www.NixonArtGlass.com

Each piece is handmade here on San Juan Island, Washington. I use high-quality glass made in Portland, Oregon. When you buy from independent artists, you’re helping to support handcrafted work made with care in the U.S. and THAT support truly means the world.
